Keep trying
Posted: February 24, 2011 Filed under: Mad world, Work 5 Comments »A sticker was placed on my computer at work the other day.
My desk is not tidy enough, it would seem:
A team member now goes round every week and dishes out a red (“A little more work needed”), orange (“Keep trying!”) or green (“Well done!”) sticker after inspecting our desks.
I say, this is patronising twaddle. We are not 5 years old.
If you want us to tidy our desks, just tell us to do it.

Yeah, but five green stickers will get you a gold star!
As you say, most patronising.
If it was me, I’d set myself a goal to see how many red stickers I could get, just to annoy them.
It’s also a waste of paper and the resources needed to make the stickiness on the back of the sticker, not exactly environmentally friendly. I’d actually raise that as an issue – I’d challenge my company to demonstrate how the stickers justify the carbon footprint inherent in their use. But I’m a bit argumentative.
Good grief. Such a mix of messages in one small piece of paper! And also, what a bunch of tossers.
“Well Organised working environment”? Eh?
If they really want to leave you patronising little notes, they could at least try to make sure the English is approaching correct. With hyphenation where appropriate and no random capitals.
Yes, I am a pedant
Do these things just appear in the middle of the night? Or do real people actually own-up to such ridiculous behaviour? I’d well organise it into an ass wipe.
